Meet our Doctors

John D. Meola, Jr., DDS, PC

Dr. Meola is the owner and director of Dental Associates of New England near Boston, Massachusetts. He has specialized in cosmetic dental care in Boston, Massachusetts and other areas of the country for more than 20 years and has worked on thousands of patients.

Dr. Meola completed his undergraduate training in pre-med at Boston College. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the prestigious Georgetown University, where he also served as president of the student council.

Dr. Meola is a member of several distinguished professional societies, including the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and Professional Team Physicians.

Dr. Meola also has been appointed the official dentist of Miss USA, Miss Mass. USA, Miss Teen Mass., Miss America Mass., and the Boston Celtics.

He is very proud of the Dental Associates of New England team of cosmetic dental care specialists in Boston, Massachusetts and the services they provide to their patients.

Christopher J. Maguire, DMD

Dr. Christopher J. Maguire is a general dentist who specializes in cosmetic and restorative dental care. Originally from the New Jersey shore, Dr. Maguire earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences/ Pre-Med from Fordham University in New York City in 1992. After graduating, he was selected for a healthcare internship at Bellevue Hospital in NYC, where he decided to pursue a profession in dentistry.  Dr. Maguire earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1997.  He went on to complete his post-graduate General Practice Residency training at the renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland in 1998.  Following his residency, Dr. Maguire returned to Boston and joined the Dental Associates team in 1998. 

Dr. Maguire is well known in the practice for his gentle and caring chair side manner, as well as his utmost attention to the finest details of his cosmetic procedures.  If you need a little help relaxing, Dr. Maguire is licensed to perform all general dentistry procedures with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation.  He takes wonderful care of all children in the practice.  For our adult patients who need dentures, his work is exceptional. 

Dr. Maguire has made many of our patients very happy with beautiful cosmetic bonding of their teeth. Dr. Maguire enthusiastically attends numerous continuing education seminars nationally and internationally to keep up with the latest advances in dental care.  He is an active member of both the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

Orthodontics

Our orthodontists provide Invisalign, braces, and other orthodontic services to the patients of Dental Associates of New England. They have been recognized by Invisalign as Elite Premier Providers - a distinction awarded to the top 1% of Invisalign providers worldwide. Specializing in cosmetic smile makeovers, our orthodontists have treated over 1,000 Invisalign cases. They treat a variety of orthodontic malocclusions, including crowding, spacing, overbites, crossbites, underbites, open bites and skeletal discrepancies. Their Invisalign patients have included members of the World Champion Boston Celtics, the New England Patriots players and cheerleaders, and the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageant winners from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, and New York.

Caroline Tahk, DMD, MS

Dr. Caroline Tahk is a board-certified orthodontist whose goals are to make sure that each patient receives the highest level of orthodontic care and finishes their treatment with a beautiful smile. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Tahk then pursued her orthodontic training at the University of California - San Francisco (UCSF), where she earned her Certificate in Orthodontics, as well as a Master’s Degree in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. She also received her Certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Rochester Eastman Institute of Oral Health in Rochester, NY.

Dr. Tahk believes in providing evidence-based care and is dedicated to advancing the field of orthodontics. She has studied various syndromes related to orthodontics since she was a student, presenting her research both at Harvard and UCSF. She has also published several articles in The American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and The Korean Journal of Orthodontics.

A native of South Korea, she is fluent in both English and Korean. During her free time, Dr. Tahk loves cooking, baking, exercising, and spending time with her family and friends. An avid supporter of music and a violinist herself, Dr. Tahk also enjoys attending the Boston Symphony Orchestra concerts.

Hidetada Moroi, DMD

Dr. Hidetada Moroi is a 3rd generation dentist, originally from Japan.  He received his dental degree from Osaka Dental College 1990, came to Boston to study and specialize in Periodontics (treatment of gum diseases and saving teeth) and Dental Implantology at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.  He has been practicing in Massachusetts since 1999.  

He has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals, and he holds a teaching position at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine as an assistant clinical professor.

Dr. Moroi has advanced training in reconstructive dental surgery, dental implant surgery, and periodontal plastic surgery.  He has expertise in providing optimum function and esthetic results for his patients.  

He is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, American Academy of Periodontology, and Academy of Osseointegration.  He is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. 

He enjoys running, playing golf, and cooking.  One of his dreams is to open a restaurant one day.   

Howard Yoon, DMD, MMSc

Dr. Yoon’s goal is to treat patients with respect and compassion, providing unequaled patient care with a gentle, attentive touch. His passion for learning and dentistry led him to attend McGill University, where he received his Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Commerce, and Doctorate of Dental Medicine with Distinction. He continued his education and advanced specialty training, receiving his Advanced Education in General Dentistry certificate at the University of Rochester, then attaining his Masters of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology and completing the Advanced Graduate Program in Endodontics from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he served as chief resident.

His dedication to improvements in science and dentistry is evident in the numerous research studies he has completed, publishing journals in the European Journal of Neuroscience, Plos One, and Journal of Endodontics and presenting his findings at the American Association of Endodontists. He was a recipient of the Alvin Krakow Award from Harvard University for research in Endodontics.

Dr. Yoon shares his commitment to service and community through his work providing dental care and promoting oral health through outreach programs. He has also worked directly with physically and intellectually disabled patients in Canada to provide free dental treatment.

Staying on top of the latest technology and best practices allows Dr. Yoon to provide exceptional personalized care to his patients. He is a member of American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists and Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Before moving to the US, Dr. Yoon grew up living in South Korea, Turkey and Canada. In addition to English, he speaks Korean, Japanese, and French. When not with patients, Dr. Yoon is an admirer of the arts, enjoys painting, hiking, and is a fan of professional soccer.

Ryan D. Blissett, DMD, MMedSc

Dr. Blissett is a graduate of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he was awarded a Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree with honors and received the American College of Dentists Outstanding Leader Award for exemplary ethics and professionalism. Subsequently, he received a Master of Medical Science degree from Harvard Medical School and a certificate of advanced graduate study in prosthodontics from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. The faculty awarded him the prestigious Joseph L. Henry Award, an honor given to one resident at Harvard each year. This commendation recognizes the resident who demonstrates exceptional clinical and research skills and makes noteworthy contributions to the university. He graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology.

Dr. Blissett currently holds a part-time academic appointment at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he lectures and provides clinical instruction to both pre-doctoral students and post-doctoral residents in the prosthodontics department. He has expertise in all phases of prosthetic dentistry, with a particular interest in complete oral rehabilitation, esthetic dentistry, and dentures.
